OUR SERVICES

Communication~Teamwork~Support

Information and Referral:  feel free to give us a call about most disability issues, except Social Security (there are experts out there for that!). We will have you do a quick intake, and if we can help you out, give you the resources you need, help you understand an issue, or send you in the right direction, we’d be happy to do that.

Training & Advocacy:  Brianna Hammon is an International Advocate having been featured in the Dan Habib documentary: Restraint and Seclusion: Hear Our Stories, which won two International Film Festival awards. Brianna and her team can bring you training on the ADA; How Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) works; How to train support staff; ADA job accommodations; Disability Culture; and more. Have a need? Give us a call.

Advocacy Services: CSD/Children’s Advocacy Project has advocated with nearly 80 years of combined experience with IDEA & Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. We can also help you understand the ADA and various other laws that protect your children’s rights in our communities.

Does the IEP seem to be read to you without your input? Can’t seem to get services your child needs? Child not achieving goals? Being asked to be understanding about a lack of learning/services? We can review your records, help you to understand the problem, and attend a meeting(s) with you to get things structured more effectively. The average case is resolved in about 10 hours. More complex cases may take longer.

504 Plan not being implemented? We can help you secure a good evaluation to be sure the plan is appropriate, and teach you to use dispute resolution to enforce the 504 plan provisions.

Your first call is free, and we have a sliding fee scale for services. April to June are typically wait-listed off and on for advocacy services because it gets pretty busy.

We triage and prioritize cases of exclusion from school and harassment/assault/abuse at all times.

Feel free to contact us with any questions!
